Arc of Iris win three prizes at the Göttinger Händelfestspielen 2023

At this year's Göttingen Handel Festival, ensemble Arc of Iris won the "Audience Prize", the "Bärenreiter Urtext Prize", for which they received a music voucher worth 1,000 euros, and the concept prize "Music and Space".

The latter is endowed with 2,000 euros as well as two performances at the Cologne "Felix" Originalklang Festival in the Ursulinenkirche and a prize-winner's concert at the Händelfestspiele. In this category, the ensemble's spatial conception is evaluated with regard to the optimal use of the concert venue and the related programming.

Arc of Iris is debuting their new programme 'El Testament' on the Open Space stage at the Bremen Domshof!

„Auf hohem Niveau und mit anregender Lebendigkeit musizierten Arc of Iris, was sich nicht zuletzt an dem vom Publikum an sie vergebenen Preis erweist ... (die Musiker) überzeugten mit ihrer farbigen, mannigfaltigen Besetzung, egal ob mit oder ohne Gesang, mit der ausgewogenen Mischung der Affekte, und ihrer ansteckenden Spielfreude. Besonders zu Herzen ging der musikalische Dialog von Sopranistin Ella Smith und Gambistin Alma Stoye in ,Thin Air‘, einem Werk der griechischen Komponistin Calliope Tsoupaki (Jahrgang 1963).“
